Ilana Rakovsky received her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Psychological Studies from New York University. She then received her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, with Summa Cum Laude honors, at New York University. During her graduate program, Ilana had the opportunity to train within highly specialized and rigourous placements including NYU medical center, JFK Hospital in New Jersey, and the Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center in New York.

While at Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine at NYU hospital, Ilana worked with both the adult and pediatric populations. She provided cognitive therapy, voice therapy, and speech/language therapy to patients across the lifespan. She was able to provide therapy in English, Russian, and Hebrew, thus beginning her training as a bilingual therapist. In addition to individualized therapy, she led aphasia therapy groups, providing speech/language therapy and emotional support for patients. When training at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute, Pediatric Rehabilitation Department, Ilana participated in treating children on the Autism spectrum in a highly specialized academic program, provided Early Intervention services, and treated a variety of disorders in the outpatient pediatric clinic.

Ilana then worked at the Saint Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center where she evaluated and treated birth through adult populations. She co-treated with Physical and Occupational Therapists at Saint Barnabas' therapeutic playground to enhance therapy programs. She participated in team evaluations and worked closely with Pediatric Neurologists, Psychologists, and  Occupational and Physical Therapists to create comprehensive therapy plans. She was a member of the NJ Craniofacial Team where she worked with a multidisciplinary team including Oromaxillofacial Surgeons, Orthodontics, Plastic Surgeons, Pediatric Neurosurgeons, Otolaryngologists, Audiologists, Psychologists, Pediatricians and Pediatric Dentists.

Ilana has worked as a New Jersey Early Intervention Provider, and has had extensive experience working within the school systems providing therapy to preschool and elementary aged students. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is licensed by the state of New Jersey as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Ilana also holds a certificate from the New Jersey Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist. Along the way, Ilana has frequently used her linguistic skills to provide therapy in multiple languages for both the pediatric and adult populations.
