Maureen Senzamici

Maureen received her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology with a Double Minor in Spanish and Deaf Studies from The College of New Jersey, Trenton, NJ, in May, 1996. She earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO, August, in 1998.

Maureen served as an adjunct professor at Kean University during the 2002-2003 school year. As an adjunct professor, she developed a curriculum and taught undergraduate students courses related to evaluating and managing auditory, speech and language skills among children with hearing loss.

In 1999, Maureen completed a grant program at the University of Kansas. This program was developed to equip speech-language pathologists with increased skills for working with students with hearing loss.

My parents are both teachers who believe strongly in the importance of family dinners. I was raised to believe that teaching is an honorable calling in life and that daily communication is just as necessary for emotional well-being as food is for physical survival. Therefore, it is fitting that I chose to enter a profession that integrates communication and teaching.

Communication is essential for life. Possessing effective communication skills provides an opportunity for increased academic and vocational success, improved quality of relationships and family dynamics and for more productive communities. As a speech-language pathologist, my goal is to provide an opportunity for improved communication skills in patients.

"Thank you for your impressive testing and analysis of my condition. It was the most thorough audiometric examination that I have ever experienced."

"your patience, enthusiasm and expertise helped me to learn a very important skill for our deaf students."
